Global CO2 emissions from aviation and impact of behavioural changes

International Energy Agency (IEA) has published a “Net Zero by 2050” report mapping the changes that the global energy sector should make to reach the goal. This report is especially interesting because it talks not only about how much emissions should be reduced but drives attention to the need for behavior change in society.

Passenger aviation plays a critical role in emissions reduction as the demand for different flights is estimated to grow by 2050. IEA proposed changes that allow to reduce aviation emissions by 50%. One of the proposed changes is to minimize air travel for business, especially the long-haul ones.

However, it is not only about having less number of flights but also about companies’ willingness to eliminate business travel from their operations and find sustainable ways of cooperation with colleagues and clients from different parts of the world.

This is where VR technology and virtual collaboration platforms like Glue can provide a sustainable solution. At Glue, our contribution is to help companies establish efficient collaboration and productive meetings in a sustainable way. Start with your company, learn more about VR for business and book a demo.
